Plot summary

Two brothers

The episode commences with a sweeping vista of two planets, one resembling a green and blue Earth-like world. Above a settlement, lightning flashes intensely. Sig Greebling, a young male human, narrates the tale of Anakin Skywalker's descent to the dark side, his transformation into Darth Vader, and his subsequent reign over the Galactic Empire alongside Emperor Palpatine. Vader's offspring, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, challenge him, spearheading the Rebellion against the Empire. Sig also recounts the events of the Battle of Endor, briefly confusing Ewoks with Wookiees. He then fast-forwards to the emergence of Kylo Ren and the Emperor's resurgence. Sig also touches upon Rey Skywalker's victory over the Emperor, aided by a "grumpy" Luke Skywalker, and the restoration of peace to the galaxy.

A girl with curly hair, also human, expresses annoyance at Sig's repeated retellings of the Skywalker saga. Sig suggests narrating a story about Grand Admiral Thrawn or The Book of Boba Fett during the next storytelling session, but the other children show no interest. Shortly thereafter, Sig's elder brother, Dev Greebling, arrives on a speeder bike, reminding Sig of their nerf herding duties. Sig corrects him, preferring the term "nerf handler."

Dev informs Sig of a nerf herd located in the northern plateau, which Farmer Scala wants returned to their pens before the approaching ion storm. The brothers embark on their speeder bike towards the northern plateau. When Dev inquires about the herd's straying, Sig diverts the conversation to his aspiration of earning enough credits to leave their home planet, Fennesa. Sig hesitates to leave, considering Fennesa his home. When Dev suggests Sig create his own stories, Sig claims to know all stories by heart. Dev points out Sig's continued confusion between Ewoks and Wookiees, to which Sig retorts that both species are furry.

Sig's secret exposed

Upon reaching the northern plateau, the brothers begin to gather the nerfs. Sig notices a single nerf, called Lug, straying from the group. Sig attempts to direct the nerfs using a large stick, but the herd moves further away. When Dev questions his use of the stick, Sig claims it's a traditional nerf herding tool. Dev disagrees, utilizing his speeder bike to herd the nerfs. Lug, however, resists and attempts to charge at him. Dev maneuvers his speeder bike, jumping over Lug. Sig expresses disagreement, reminding Dev of Scala's instructions, but Dev prefers shortcuts.

While riding, Dev fails to notice a dark structure. His bike crashes into it, launching him into the air. Sig uses the Force to construct a vegetable-like structure from various objects to break Dev's fall. Dev is impressed, but Sig is annoyed by his brother's recklessness. When Dev confronts Sig about concealing his Force-sensitivity, Sig initially denies it but then admits to hiding his powers for years. Sig clarifies that he lacks the ability to lift objects or perform Jedi mind tricks, instead using the Force to build things.

When Dev says he would flaunt his powers if he were Force-sensitive, Sig explains that he is shy and not brave. He believes that revealing extraordinary powers leads to unrealistic expectations. Sig desires to be ordinary. Dev assures him that he is not. Sig wishes their roles were reversed. Dev agrees but insists Sig no longer hide his abilities. Back in town, Sig tries to dissuade Dev from leaving their homeworld.

Enter Yesi Scala

They soon encounter Farmer Scala and his daughter Yesi Scala in conversation with two Resistance pilots, one human and one Sullustan. The pilots had caught Scala's daughter taking the Sullustan's X-wing starfighter for a spin. Yesi insists she returned the X-wing in the same condition. However, the X-wing explodes, scattering its components, including an astromech droid head. Scala persuades the pilots to let him handle his daughter's punishment, to which they reluctantly agree. When Farmer Scala reminds Yesi that she will inherit the farm, Yesi insists on becoming a pilot. Scala reminds his daughter that her place is with the nerfs and him on Fennesa. Dev and Sig overhear Yesi arguing with her father. Dev sympathizes with her situation.

When Yesi approaches the Greebling brothers, Dev expresses sympathy for her desire to leave Fennessa. Sig attempts to convince her to appreciate Fennesa, pointing out that there are worse worlds like Hoth. Yesi counters that she would rather face a hundred wampas than stay on Fennesa. Yesi asserts her desire to choose her own path. Sig claims to understand her. Dev interrupts, inviting her to watch a holo of Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes, and activates his holoprojector.

Feeling uneasy around Yesi, whom he is attracted to, Sig retreats home. He finds his GNK-series power droid Servo making noise in the living room and instructs him to stop hitting the cupboard containing his toy models. After securing Servo, Sig comforts the droid, noting their shared status as outsiders. Through the window, they observe a crowd gathering as Dev and Yesi dance on a rooftop.

A fateful evening

Later, Sig walks with Dev and Servo, leading the nerf Lug, who pulls a cart. Dev informs Sig that he and Yesi plan to save enough money to travel offworld, inviting Sig to join them in conquering the galaxy. Sig, apprehensive about change, prefers the safety and predictability of Fennesa. As an ion storm approaches, Lug panics and breaks free, falling off a cliff. Sig saves him, but in the process, falls off the cliff himself, clinging to a vine. Dev rescues him, but a panicked Servo knocks them both over the cliff.

The brothers and Servo plummet down the cliff, landing in a forest. Dev takes the lead, but they become lost. They discover an abandoned Jedi temple with a Jedi symbol on its door. Dev wants to explore, hoping to find a kyber crystal to fund their offworld travel. Despite Sig's hesitation, Dev insists that destiny has led them to the temple. Unable to open the door himself, Dev persuades Sig to use his Force powers, causing the door to split open.

They enter a hallway lined with statues. Sig discovers an inscription stating that the Temple holds the galaxy together. Dev becomes interested in a glowing cornerstone at the base of a wall. Sig advises against tampering with the objects, but Dev dismisses his concerns. Provoked by Dev, Sig loses his temper and uses the Force to summon the cornerstone from the wall. Sig asks his brother if he is now happy.

Tampering with space and time

A cloaked figure interrupts them, warning them to stay away. The figure expresses dismay at the removal of the cornerstone, which causes the Jedi Temple to collapse. Dev escapes through the doorway before it collapses, leaving Sig and Servo behind. The cloaked figure laments that space and time are unraveling, and that everything will change. The planets of the galaxy shatter and reform in different colors. The cloaked figure says that the "building blocks" of the galaxy are getting mixed up.

The removal of the Cornerstone triggers changes during the Battle of Hoth, where Imperial AT-AT walkers are reconfigured as orange AT-AT walkers bearing firebird symbols on a volcanic landscape. The cloaked figure adds that everything that we know about the galaxy will be different. Elsewhere, a scene of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi battling B1 battle droids is replaced by one of B1 battle droids watching a holochess game. As the cloaked figure says that worlds will change, the salt on the planet Crait is replaced by pepper.

As the cloaked figure says that people will change, Yoda and Palpatine are transformed into aliens including a Kowakian monkey-lizard in a meeting. As the cloaked figure adds "in ways we cannot possibly imagine," Luke Skywalker is transferred from the Death Star trench run during the Battle of Yavin to becoming an airspeeder delivery driver. As the cloaked figure laments that what has come before us is gone, the Ewoks are transferred to a barren desert world while the Jedi during the Battle of Geonosis are transformed into Geonosians. Rey is replaced by an alien. A bright blue light engulfs the galaxy.

An altered galaxy

Sig and Servo emerge into a desolate desert landscape littered with ruins. While searching for Dev, they encounter several Mon Calamari wearing Clone trooper armor, repeatedly exclaiming "It's a trap." One of the Mon Calamari Clone troopers asks Sig and Servo what they are doing on Fenessa, which belongs to the Galactic Empire. Sig, believing the Empire to be gone, addresses the Mon Calamari as the late Admiral Ackbar. The Mon Calamari clones surround Sig, intending to take him to the Sith Lord. However, Yesi intervenes, defeating the stormtroopers with her gaffi stick and combat skills.

Yesi doesn't recognize Sig. When Sig asks why she saved him, she explains that anyone who is an enemy of a clone trooper is a friend to the Rebellion. When she asks how he knows her, Sig struggles to explain, leading Yesi to believe that the Rebellion sent him. Sig clarifies that he is not a rebel but that he lives on Fenessa with his brother. When Sig tells her that they work for her dad, Yesi doesn't know what he is talking about and tells him that her father was killed by the Empire. She says that she is only here to scout Fenessa for the Rebellion. Sig says that it doesn't make sense but Yesi thinks that he is all mixed up. When a Mon Calamari clone trooper emerges, Sig uses the Force to knock him out with a brick.

When Yesi asks if he is a Jedi, Sig denies it. Yesi is skeptical and believes he is a Jedi who could aid the Rebellion. As they enter a town, they pass two arguing Clone troopers. The town is populated by Clone troopers. The two humans and Servo seek cover behind crates at a spaceport. Sig is surprised to see X-fighters flying. Yesi hides Sig as several Clone troopers walk past. When Yesi remarks that the Clone troopers are dumber than rancors, Sig starts to explain that rancors are intelligent but Sig tells them to follow here.

Darth Devastator

While hiding behind more crates, Sig spots his brother Dev, clad in dark robes, walking with Clone troopers. Assuming Dev has been captured by the Empire, Sig runs towards him despite Yesi's warnings. Darth Dev does not recognize Sig, who tries to explain that they are brothers. Dev senses that Sig is strong with the Force. Sig tells Dev that they found an ancient Jedi Temple, which alarms Yesi. Dev reveals that he has been searching for the temple for years and that he is now called "Darth Dev." Sig thinks his brother is joking until Dev reveals that his full name is "Darth Devastator" and unleashes Force lightning. Sig tries to flee but Dev levitates him and Yesi.

Darth Dev orders his Clone troopers to take Sig and Yesi to his castle. After the Clone troopers bind them with magnetic binders, Yesi tells Sig that Dev is the Sith Lord who ruled the galaxy. Meanwhile, Servo bumps into the mysterious cloaked man, who tells him to calm down while he activates a green lightsaber. He tells Servo that we are going to save them. The episode concludes on a cliffhanger.
